I hope you’re ready to have your socks knocked off!  I have been writing about weight loss for awhile now but I know you all aren’t ready to even start a diet. I’ll bet a lot of you are thinking about it but starting seems a long way off.

You sound a lot like me. I feel like I have to really get “in the mood” before I can discipline myself to watch what I eat.  I think that I can’t possibly do this when my birthday is coming or Thanksgiving is coming or summer vacation or President’s Day or Friday…. Well, you get the picture. Even though I know this isn’t true because I have to watch carefully what I eat to avoid gluten for my health.

Start Doing These Before Your Diet

Everything changed when I realized there were things that I could do BEFORE I dieted to prepare my body and mind. These five secret Ninja tips change your mindset and prepare you to transition easily into eating in a new way.

Check out these simple tips and get ready for a new way of thinking! I believe in you and I know you can start making little changes that add up to a lot in your near future.

[bctt tweet=”Pre-Diet Secret Tip #1 – Drink a cup of water with lemon juice when you wake up each morning.” username=”@ang1e0251″]

Water jump your metabolism and waking up your digestive system in the morning is the way to go.  We want that fat burning mechanism to crank up as early as possible.  Also you can get pretty dehydrated over night when you lose body fluid through the action of breathing without drinking.  Water and lemon combine to help clean out toxins; assisting the liver and kidneys to functions well.  And the best part?  Water gives those stomach muscles a full feeling.  The muscles signal the brain when they sense volume in the stomach.  This helps the brain hold back on the Hungry feeling do it can send the Full feeling longer.  This helps you be satisfied all the way to lunch!

[bctt tweet=”Pre-Diet Secret Tip #2 – Chug a shot glass of water every half hour.” username=”@ang1e0251″]

Speaking of water, anything you can do to control your snacking and food portions before you start a diet, is going to make you even more successful.  If you quickly drink down a few ounces of water, like a shot glass full, your stomach will respond with a very quick Full signal.  This is super helpful when you want to fast between meals to cut out snacking.  It is also helpful before you eat a meal.  You will still eat but not feel like you want so much food.  That’s great when portion control is part of your issue.

It’s great to get in this habit before you start a diet to avoid Diet Shock.  You know, that feeling that suddenly you’re expected to eat like a bunny rabbit when you’ve been eating like an ox!

[bctt tweet=”Pre-Diet Secret Tip #3 – Do twenty minutes of covert exercise each day. ” username=”@ang1e0251″]Five Secret Ways to Prepare for a Diet

Yeah, Covert Exercise!  It sounds like a 007 workout, doesn’t it?  No, I mean sneak in twenty minutes of exercise that you really don’t notice because it’s just a part of your day.  This is exercise that you do like brushing your teeth each day; just a habit.  If you hate exercise, then this is for you.  And believe me, if you are already doing this before you start to diet, another harder workout will be much easier than it ever has been.

Here’s how you do it; when you go to work, park further away.  I want you to walk for ten minutes to reach your work and ten minutes when you leave work.  That way, by the time you get home each day, your twenty minutes are already done!  Easy peasy!

If you’re not working but going to the store, the same applies.  Part ten minutes out so you get that workout in.  You are gonna learn to love those big parking lots. If you make it a brisk walk, even better.

[bctt tweet=”Pre-Diet Secret Tip #4 – Get rid of your scales completely. Now.” username=””]

I know, I know, we’ve always been told to weigh every day, to be vigilant, to stay on the look out for that extra pound.  But you know, I see too many people in my practice that use what’s on the scales to set the mood for their day.  And usually the mood is crappy.  If the scales go up, they are depressed all day and figure they may as well eat all day since they’ve blown it.  But if the scales go down, many people also are depressed.  They say they should have lost more. They think no matter what happens that they are not good enough and they start eating crazy again.

It’s better to let it go and use your clothes as a measuring stick.  And when you start to lose, get rid of the too big clothes fast!  Don’t let them sit around, inviting you back in!

[bctt tweet=”Pre-Diet Secret Tip #5 – Find a Hypnotherapist to give you an edge through your weight loss journey.” username=”@ang1e0251″]

One of the best things you can ever do for yourself is to work with a Hypnotherapist.  Hypnosis is a super relaxing state where you learn at a rapid pace.  And that means to learn new things like eating only at mealtime, being satisfied with much smaller portions and visualizing a slimmer future.

Your Hypnotherapist wants you to succeed and has the tools that appeal to your Subconscious Mind in a way you just aren’t able to.  Getting your Subconscious on your side is the best way to succeed because all your cravings and insecurities lie in your mind.  By suggesting to your Subconscious that it look at eating in a new way, you can make those changes in an organic and natural manner.  And the side effects? You’ll sleep better, feel less anxious and more in control than ever.
