   How to Quit Smoking Tips with Hypnosis – Session One

   When You Arrive

So, you’ve decided to come into my shop for Smoking Cessation Hypnosis.  Awesome!  Here’s what you can expect when you come in.

    Come on In!

When you come for your first session, me in a cute little shop in the small town of Milford.  I’ll greet you as you come and I’ll show you to the small table where we can take care of paperwork and talk before we do the hypnosis.

I’ll lock the door and put a little “In Session” sign out.  Then I’ll join you at the table.  First, we cover paperwork.  I will give you a contract to sign which tells the cost of sessions and explains my procedure.  Then you will fill out an intake form.  I want to know if you take any medications or have any conditions I should be aware of.

   Then we’ll talk.

I will asking a lot of questions about your smoking.  I want to know everything; when you started, what brand you smoke, how many you are currently smoking, what time of day you smoke each one and what you like about smoking cigarettes.  And that’s not all…I want you to tell me what you hate about smoking.  Did you grow up around people who smoked?

At this point we can go out to your car to do a little exercise, if you are one who smokes in the car.  This is called the Emotional Detox.  It changes that urge to smoke that you’ve trained yourself to do when you sit in the car and reach for a cigarette.

   Swish

Back in the shop,  I may decide to do a Swish with you.  A Swish is a Neural Linguistic Programming technique.  It uses the way your brain stores information to change the way you feel about cigarettes.  We want to change your feelings from craving and attraction to cigarettes, to one where you don’t really feel the same any more.  You might even just feel neutral and not even drawn to them after this.

   Hypnosis

Now, it’s time for your hypnosis.  We start by relaxing all the muscles in your body and allowing you to slip into a deeply comfortable state.  I’ll be talking you through each step and you will be able to hear each word I’m saying.  This is a time where you are just listening and following my words.  I want you to think about what I’m saying but not to help me or hinder me as I describe a number of different visuals for you to imagine.

When you are relaxed to the point I need you to be,  I’ll begin to describe the guided visualization needed to separate your Subconscious Mind from those connections to cigarettes.  It’s a powerful procedure that your mind can relate to completely.

   Coming Out

As I bring you up and out of hypnosis,  it’s a little reluctantly on your part as most people find it so pleasant that they want to stay under longer!  I’ll give you several minutes to orient yourself.  You can tell of your experience if you want right then.

At that point, I will go over your homework for the coming week with you.  You will then pay the fee for the three sessions and you’re ready to leave, a permenent non-smoker.

Next week,  I’ll outline Session Two for you and let you know the next strategy to keep you on track for a lifetime without cigarettes.
