Why Being Proactive is So Important for Weight Loss

Things are going to go wrong.  That’s just part of life.  Whether these situations have a large negative impact or are merely minor inconveniences depends on how proactive you are.  Living a life of reacting to problems in the heat of the moment magnifies challenges like cravings and adds undue stress to your meal plan. Or in other words,  stop living a defensive life, making everything a big ol’drama. Live proactively.

Proactivity makes food and stress challenges manageable and provides stability.  It’s easier to be calm, cool, and in control of your food if you’re proactive.

Choose proactivity and exercise control over your eating:

   1)   Proactivity is a way of defusing potential challenges before they become problems.

  • Imagine you have one hundred pounds to lose.  It’s pretty clear that you have an issue with food cravings, portion control and maybe emotional eating. If you’re proactive, you will pick an eating plan that allows food choices and doesn’t restrict the types of foods you eat.
  • The person that isn’t proactive will pick a restrictive diet plan and then cave to their cravings; failing yet another weight loss plan.

   2)   Give yourself the opportunity to develop more workable solutions.

When you wait until the last minute, most of the possible solutions evaporate.  You’re stuck in the motivation of the craving and emotion.  Part of that is that those cravings make your thinking fuzzy.  You can’t entertain the possible solutions. You’re forced to patch together whatever will work in the heat of the moment. And that usually means you’re going to blow your eating program.

Why Being Proactive is So Important for Weight Loss  Think and Plan

To be proactive, it’s necessary to look ahead and consider all your likely issues with food. This is more effective than living life by the seat of your pants.

   1)  Create a better life.

Living reactively is a recipe for merely surviving.  You spend all of your time white knuckling through crisis after crisis instead of creating a better life of calm food choices.  Proactivity allows the space and the luxury to create that dream shape and size that you’ve been imagining.

   2)   Feel empowered.

When you’re proactive, you take responsibility for your life and eating and believe that your choices matters.  By waiting until there’s an issue before taking action, you simply react to life instead of designing it. Planning and preparation give you control.

   3) Enjoy more choices.

  •    Suppose your health has reached a crisis stage because of your weight and eating habits.   You know you need to diet but you’ve failed so many times before, that you’re paralyzed into inaction.  You have no faith that you can pull off sticking to a plan and turning your health around.  If you become proactive, you will put all the winning cards on your side every day.  You seek out the help you need to make it work for you.  You can hire a fitness coach, pick an eating plan that caters to your behavior and even, hire a hypnotist!  My weight loss program,  Weight Loss Epiphany, is made to help with cravings and emotional eating plus in person support or the recorded support in my audios.  You plan ahead for emergencies in your eating instead of reacting to stress.  Your success lies in preparation.
  • You have unlimited options if you’re proactive. You have few if you wait until you’re hungry and out of control.

   7)   Find greater peace of mind.

  •   Live your life with less anxiety around food. You already know what’s going to happen and you’re prepared for it. What do you have to worry about?
  •  When you live reactively, you’re always waiting for the other shoe to drop. That’s a stressful way to live. You’re at the mercy of your cravings and emotional eating patterns.

   8)  Being proactive makes the path forward clearer.

Choosing to look ahead allows you to develop a plan for future eating.  Proactive people have a direction and a plan to get to perfect health.

There are many benefits to using proactivity each day for your eating plan.  Proactive people have control over their eating.  Challenges can be confronted before they become full-blown issues.  It’s a more enjoyable and effective way to eat for health.

What does the future hold?  How can you maximize your opportunities and minimize your potential challenges? Planning and getting the help in your weak areas will allow you to succeed in you weight loss plan.  You’re the winner.  Your health improves and you can live the life you’ve been wanting.
