Smoking Cessation

   Quit Smoking

Quit smoking.  If you’re a smoker in the US, you have heard this message over and over.  It’s printed on the pack your cigarettes are sold in. It’s shown to you in graphic images on TV. You see signs that keep you from smoking in your work place, where you go for a beer, where you worship, and maybe even in your own home, smoking indoors is a no no.  You have heard all the reasons to quit. The circulation problems, heart disease, COPD, and lung cancer.  And you’ve probably endured dirty looks from others when they see you smoking.

Not only that, but a visit to your doctor always come with the questions.  Are you still smoking?  Is it affecting your energy?  Have you noticed more colds and more lung infections?  When are you going to quit?  Maybe that same doctor is frowning at your blood pressure and the heart rate.  He hears fluids and the crackling in your lungs that are a sign of poor health to come.

   You’ve Heard it All

You’ve heard it all.  And worst of all, now you are starting to notice that it’s taking its toll.  You have that wet cough that never goes completely away.  You don’t have the stamina that you used to.  Your sleep isn’t that good and you’re waking up tired all the time.

You’ve decided it’s time to quit but you’ve tried it before and you just couldn’t do it more than a couple of days.  Maybe you’ve even used the patches or the gum or the lozenges but could never let it completely go.  Maybe you quit for a little while but smoked one and you were right back where you started.

You need help.  And there is a lot of help out there.  There are support groups and websites, blogs and forums. But none of them seem to be the right fit.  And that’s why you’re here.  Learning about hypnosis and wondering if it could help you.  Or maybe someone you know needs to quit and you’re looking around for them.

   Hypnosis

Let’s see what medicine has to say about it.  “The Institute of Actuaries (in the US) commissioned the largest study ever done on smoking cessation. It statistically analyzed the results of 633 smoking cessation studies involving 71,806 participants.”  The results of this study showed that  among the techniques used, hypnosis was the most effective.  So effective that it was three times more effective than nicotine gum and five times more effective than willpower alone.

Chances are, you already know someone who has quit smoking using hypnosis. I find that most of my clients tell me that. Some ask me if those one day clinics are any good at helping you to quit.

Smoking Cessation   One Day?

Here’s what you need to know. You can quit smoking in one session.  My clients quit on their first day.  But I use a three session program and the smokers find long term success tend to be the ones who attend all three sessions. That’s because each week I teach you a new method to address your stress and cravings at each of the three sessions.

Another problem with only one session is that often situations come up that need to be addressed during the first week.  That cannot be done if you only have a single session to work with.  The third week sometimes is a harder challenge than the first for new non-smokers . I don’t really know why but it seems to be.

When you attend a smoking cessation hypnosis at a hotel with a traveling hypnotist, you go for one session, pay your fee and that’s the end.  When you come to your local hypnotist for your therapy, you know where to return if you need further support.  What do you do if you are in need of further support from your traveling hypnotist?

   In Conclusion:

So, today, I assured you that you know all the reasons for quitting smoking. You may be ready to quit and know your health will improve if you do. You probably have tried to quit but never had long term success.  You wonder if hypnosis can help you and I’ve shown you that medical research says it’s the most successful way to quit by far.

I’ve explained the difference between going to a traveling hypnotist and seeing a local hypnotherapist like myself. And now it’s time for you to take action.
