Two Questions That Give You the Perspective You Need to Lose Weight

An owl on a branch with the title Two Questions That Give You the Perspective You Need to Lose Weight

I’ve probably ready about a hundred diet books. I’ve seen infomercials for weight loss systems and I’ve listened to podcasts about healthy eating.  Whew!  It’s easy to get bogged down with all the self-help information.

Are confused by it all?  Do you save pins on Pinterest about nutrition , dieting and exercise but you never use them? Is it more about too much to do in your life to completely change your way of eating or start a new exercise routine?

Your answers will help keep you on track on the way to achieving your goals and help you to make an action plan that will get you there double quick.

Ask yourself these two questions:

“If an invisible person followed you around all day, what would they see?”

I remember a few years ago I would see kids wearing the bracelets engraved with WWJD.  It stood for What Would Jesus Do?  It was a reminder to look at one’s actions throughout the day and measure the actions against the standards that Jesus lived by.  Not a bad way to think.

If  an invisible person were following you, would they see you overeating a lot of time? Would they see you eating bigger portions than you should? Would they see someone that is just going through the motions and claiming to eat healthy? In my Weight Loss Epiphany you imagine in hypnosis that you’ve had a Gastric Bypass surgery.  You’re stomach is hypnotically shrunk to the size of a golf ball.  Imagine a golf ball, just that small amount three times a day is all you need to eat for weight loss. Most people overestimate the amount of food they need to eat to lose weight.

The actions that you take each day drive the results your get.

Are you taking action that will move you forward to the size and shape you desire or are you spinning round and round pretending to yourself that Monday you’ll start actually eating right?

What would that invisible person logically conclude about you, your life, and your future?

“If you ate the same way as your average day, every day, for the next 5 years, what is the logical outcome?”

So if you kept eating the way of your average day over and over, where is your size and shape likely to end up?  Now compare that conclusion with the life you’d like to have.  How close are they?

If you are ready to change, you can make plans and create some good eating habits today.  What do you need to do on a consistent basis to achieve the life you hope for?  If you want to lose 10 inches off your waist and weigh 75 lbs less, then your daily actions need to be focused on that goal.

People largely fail to end up where they wish to be for two reasons:

   1)  They have no idea where they’re going. You need to have a plan.

You can’t get there if you don’t know the destination.  If you don’t have a plan, you must live by default, sitting around until something goes wrong and then spending your energy fixing the issue.  And that’s how weight loss, robbing a bank and building a house are the same: you’ve got to have a plan. Otherwise you’re just spinning your weight loss wheels round and round.

But if you have a plan like Weight Loss Epiphany and working with a hypnotherapist like me, you have the chance to get the edge over all of your bad habits.  If you spend your energy driving towards something, you’ll eventually get there.

   2)  They don’t do the things each day that will create the life they want.

In spite of what many gurus seem to claim, you can’t wish your way to success.  Success is the result of making positive decisions and taking action.

Ask yourself the two questions above.

You might be shocked when you really look at your average day and realize where you’re likely to end up as a result of doing those same things every day.  It doesn’t take a lot to be very successful, but it does take consistency.

For instance, imagine if you did 1 pushup every day this week and added 1 pushup a week,  in 5 years you would be doing 250 pushups a day and you would never struggle for a minute.

In the same way, establishing daily eating habits that move you forward toward achieving your goals will result in your success.  So which habit will you start today?  Ready to work with me? (574) 658-4686.
