A spoon dipping into a bowl of sugar with the title,I Can’t Stop Being Fat or 3 Truths About Sugar    Have you done diet after diet only to have the weight come back + another 10 pounds?  Do your family and friends give you that look like you’re just lazy?  Do you dream of fitting into your skinny pants but secretly know it’ll never happen?  You might even feel that someone is watching every bite that goes into your mouth and judging you for it.

Now, before we get started, I wanted to give you a gift.  It’s my new PDF “146 Ways Hypnotherapy Might Help You”. Download it FREE at IndianaHypnosisCenter.com.  You’ll absolutely be surprised at what hypnosis will do for you.

You know I’ve never considered myself thin even as a teen.  Before age twelve, I was a normal healthy child; active and bright.  But at puberty, I put on some weight.  That is not really unusual for girls of that age.  My sister is six years older and since she was a teenager, she was always talking about weight and clothing sizes as teen girls do.  So, I clued in on the diet talk pretty early in life.

What I’ve learned over the years is that everything I have learned about weight loss and weight maintenance was dead WRONG.  I see many of you making the same mistakes I have but you can learn to do better now.

Let’s get started.

Truth #1 – Replacing sugary drinks with artificial sweeteners DOES NOT promote long term weight loss.

We were told in the 60’s that artificially sweetened soft drinks would make us all thin because the sugars in Coke and Pepsi had a lot of calories that were leading to obesity.  Well, that was half right.  Sugar consumption does lead to obesity by increasing insulin levels in the body. I personally drank enough Tab and then Diet Coke to fill a lake!

But study after study showed that subjects using diet drinks GAINED weight over the long run instead of losing. Why?  Because artificial sweeteners still raise insulin levels and insulin levels are the cause of obesity and metabolic syndrome.

Truth #2 – Even though High Fructose Corn Syrup has a low glycemic rating, it can still kill you.

WHAT?

High Fructose Corn Syrup is exactly that; fructose.  Every cell in your body can use glucose but no cell has the ability to use fructose.  It can only be metabolized in the liver.  That puts a lot of pressure on your liver because no other organs can help out with this process.  Ever heard of fatty liver?  Fructose consumption is how that happens.
Too much fructose causes insulin resistance.  A study produced pre-diabetes in healthy subjects in just eight weeks from adding fructose to their diet!  Amazing!  Amazingly scary…

A more insidious result of eating fructose is high blood pressure. Yes, from fructose!  See, the liver has to use a complicated function to metabolize the fructose into usable energy. That uses resources that usually work with controlling blood pressure but when they have to be used for fructose fixing, then there’s not much left over and then…BOOM… high blood pressure!

High fructose corn syrup needs to be removed from your diet RIGHT NOW!

#3  Sugar = High Insulin Levels = Insulin Resistance = Obesity

[bctt tweet=”It’s not calories.  It’s not fat.  It’s not carbs.  It’s high insulin levels over time that leads to insulin resistance.  And high insulin levels are caused by sugar.” username=”@ang1e”] When your insulin levels are high for a long time, your body adapts by causing insulin resistance and keeps it that way.
That is why you can diet and lose but it just comes back.  Your body has set the thermostat at a certain weight and it wants and fights to keep it there.  A long term insulin resistance in the body is a very hard cycle to break.  For many, diet alone won’t break it.

Good.  Now I’ve revealed 3 Truths about sugar to you.  It’s time for you to take action.  Get the sugar out of your diet.  And, please, real labels to eliminate the dangerous High Fructose Corn Syrup from all of your foods.
Next time, let’s take a hard look at methods that are proving successful against long term insulin resistance.
